Tips and tricks for a good PDF layout.
Send us your PDF file already scaled in the desired poster size. This allows you to estimate and decide on your screen whether your PDF file offers sufficient resolution or is “pixelated”. Please do not compress images and all color representations. Create in CMYK mode with the ICC standard profile ISO Coated V2, based on Fogra 39. Place fonts and important components within the large final format with a safe distance of 10mm from the edge of the paper. This means that your information does not fall victim to the necessary cropping and letters do not fall out of the picture. Avoid thin, black border lines or bars (mourning edges), as well as cut marks. Very thin lines, so-called hairlines, can also cause problems in inkjet printing. As a general rule, positive lines (dark lines on a light background) must have a thickness of at least 0.25 points = 0.09mm. Negative lines (light line on a dark background) must have a thickness of at least 0.50 dot = 0.20mm, relative to the original format. Likewise, the total color saturation of the lines must not be less than 300%, otherwise they will appear blurry and torn. Also keep in mind that in the case of extreme reductions, fine lines disappear completely in print (e.g. fine lines created in the original DIN A0 format are reduced 35% to DIN A3).
Your print-ready PDF file.
Please send your PDF files in a single consolidated order in a timely manner. Hectic emails with confusing attachments that roll in at a 10-minute interval are not helpful and delay completion.
If you have any questions about the printing material,
please let us know your intended use. We will recommend suitable material. For full-color posters with consistently high color saturation, we exclusively print on our excellent 200gr. silk matt roll paper. This material has a water-repellent surface and is therefore also suitable for outdoor poster applications. We always have suitable roll material in stock for CAD applications and any presentations of technology, architecture, and advertising.
The maximum print area is 1.3m wide x 3m long.
We also cut these dimensions. More technical information and links under large format printing and print guide.
